Hello there
fellow trend-setters. We have for you yet another blockbuster-packed
newsletter full of all sorts of goodies. Well, sort of.
Perhaps just the latest to let you know what's going on,
what changes have been made, and what's coming.
First cab off the rank;
New Battle: Wilson's Creek.
That's right. We have yet another
battle for you to try out. It is one of the smaller ones
during the war, and was one of the two battles that decided
the fate of Missouri (Pea Ridge being the other). The Union
are horribly out numbered but have caught the Confederates
in their tents.
Again, it is FREE for one week from the moment this email
left our server. BUT this assumes at least some of you would
like to be part of "play testing" and will let
me know if it's great or if it sucks.
Update; Battle of Atlanta
Unfortunately many of our
members are proving that they are much smarter than General
Hood who lost The Battle of Atlanta in a truly stupendous
way. That is, many players are playing the game the way
General Hood did NOT fight the battle. What the bone head
did was send in the flank attack, wait till it got thumped,
and then sent in the frontal attack. Not smart.
All confed players in this battle, being a bit gifted in
the gray matter department, send in all their troops at
once, not giving the Union player a chance at all.
So, to make this game more fair and far more interesting,
we have had to give the Confed player some of Hood's intelligence
and really make sure you can't send in all your troops at
once. That way the battle is far more even.
Enjoy. It's quite a tight fight now.
Tournaments are coming closer.
Yes, they are. Code is
being written as fast as it can go.
Gift PINs now can be purchased.
Some of you have asked
can you buy Gift Certificates for your friends. Well, now
you can.
Go to the Purchase
Page, scroll down and look for
When you click on these and pay your money, the respective
number of PINs will be sent to you. What you do with them
is entirely up to you but giving them to some of your best
buddies might be an idea.
Site stats and Links:
I have heard a few people make remarks about the small number
of people who play Line of Muskets (sniff. Makes me sad
too). What can I say? We have something like 4,000 members
but only a very small percentage of keen American Civil
War people.
Many have said they are waiting for our WWII game (getting
closer but don't hold your breath) which is fair enough.
However, just to let you all know something, there was a
set of very good American Civil War miniatures rules called
"Fire and Fury" published some years ago. I believe
they sold 2,000,000 copies. So the people are out there.
To find those like-minded ACW people we are doing lots of
things to make Tower Games spread on the internet. If you
want to help a little bit, and happen to have a website
somewhere (that is approrpriate) please put a link to us
on there. The search engines really like this.
And thanks for all those wonderful people who are putting
excellent reviews in their blogs and forums (but please
include a link). It spreads the word.
And as for all you others who are waiting in the wings for
the WWII game, well, all I can say is playing a battle game
of any description helps you learn strategy and tactics.
When the game comes out and you meet all those WWII enthusiasts
who played Line of Muskets, you may just have your butt
handed to you in a sling. Just because they have had more
practice. Ha ha. We shall see.
That's all for now. See you next time.
Regards,
From Chris, the editor, and every one at Tower Games.
