First steps
|
| To join
Tower Games, simply go through the following steps: |
| 1. |
Click the Sign
Up in the Blue New User's panel. This will
take you to the "Sign up" page. Enter your email
address and your chosen Nickname in the Blue
New Users Panel. You may have to try several names to
find a Nickname that is available.
|
| 2. |
Once you are signed up, you will be sent a confirmation email
with your Password and Nickname. When you login,
you will have full access to the red Members Panel
and all its functions, and you will also be able to play our
free games.
IMPORTANT:
- Email Filters
If you have a "spam blocker", "white list"
or "green list" be sure to let it know to let
email from editor@towergames.com through. Otherwise we cannot
send you your password. If you are concerned about your
privacy or unsolicited emails, please read our Privacy
Policy.
- Popup Blockers
We open games and some help pages in "popped up" browser
windows. Please configure any "Popup Blocker" you are running
to let Tower Games through. We don't have any advertising
pop-ups at Tower Games. NB: Some browsers now have pop-up
blockers built in and turned on by default
|
| 3. |
You require a Java Plugin in order
to play Tower Games. Java version 1.4.1. or later is required.
Go to the Java
Download Site to make sure you have the latest java, which
is available for free from Sun. It is not a small file, so
it might take some minutes to download. The sun download installs
itself correctly and configures your browser properly. Usually
the installation of the Java Plugin should be a once-off process.
|
| 4. |
After having followed the above instructions and read Help,
which will familiarise you with the functions of the Red Members
Panel, you will be ready to play great online games with anyone
anywhere in the world.
|
| 5. |
For all our games (okay, so we only have one
at the moment) there are a number of Free games for you to
learn how to play. But, of course, at some time you will want
to play the bigger, more exciting games, with more people.
In order to do that you have to .
Come along and enjoy.
You get great value. Many hours of fun for
only a little bit of money. And, of course, after you have
signed up you will be given $3 worth of tokens absolutely
FREE, which will allow you to "test drive" our games
before you buy.

How to start a game
|
| 1. |
This is the place to start. You are in the
Games Room, logged in. You could join a "proposal."
However, you want to start a new one.
|
| 2. |
So you click "New."
|
| 3. |
Then a new window opens. This is the list
of games that are available.
(This is also why any "pop-up" blockers
have to be turned off. If they are turned on this window cannot
open).
|
| 4. |
Next you have to select a game.
Highlight First Bull Run and the click "Finish"
at the bottom (or double clicking "First Bull Run"
does the same thing).
|
| 5. |
So you've selected what game
you want to play. Now you have to select what side and position
you want to play. In First Bull Run you are given 2 choices.
In the larger multi-player battles you will be given many
more choices.
|
|
6.
|
Just be aware that you may not
get your choice.
You also have to select "Head
to Head" start (if you want to play now with someone
else in the Games Room) or "Hot Seat" start (if
you want to play with someone who is NOT in the Games Room
but will be along later. Very good for starting the large
battles where lots of players are needed).
|
|
7.
|
Next you have to choose how long
you want the Timer to be; 1, 2, 4 or 7 days.
What this means is after this
amount of time has elapsed, those players who haven't put
in their orders will have their orders done by the system.
In this way the game will keep moving along. It also allows
you to decide how often you want to do your turns.
|
| 8. |
The last thing to do is to decide if you want it to be a
Private or a Public proposal. If you choose Private, only
those who you invite will be able to see the proposal.

|
| 9. |
If you choose Public everyone will be able to see the proposal.
However, you can still choose to Block some people as a "once-off".
This is for those times when you have played the same person
over and over and want someone new, or for whatever reason
(hey, we are all human).
In this example of a Public Proposal everyone logged into
the Games room will be able to see it except Danny and Eric.
For more information regarding Buddy List, invites and blocking,
see Buddy List.

|
| 10. |
Then select Block. The game selection will appear in the
Games Room and you are away.
|
| 11. |
Of course, you can always join
someone else's proposal for a game. Just click on the proposal
so it's highlighted. Then click "Join." Your name
will be added to the proposal after you have gone through
the "Position Selection window" (shown above)..
|
| 12. |
Now you know all there really
is to starting a game. The next step is to go the Games
Room and have a game. Enjoy.
